We write in support of the reelection of Judge Amit Kapoor.  As experienced Lane County attorneys, we have had the privilege of observing Kapoor in various settings over the past years.

We believe that his character, temperament, values and legal ability make him an excellent choice to continue to serve as a Lane County Circuit Court judge. He cares about the people of Lane County, is fair to the people who must bring their legal matters to court and is thoughtful about the consequences that his decisions have for the larger community.

We encourage you to become informed about this important election and carefully consider the qualities and contributions that Kapoor brings to our community. He is also the only immigrant who currently serves as a Lane County judge, and his life experiences help him appreciate the importance of our courts as part of our democracy.

Kapoor represented ordinary citizens in legal cases before he became a judge.  He has now served as a judge for the past six years. He is intelligent, thoughtful and impartial. His decisions reflect a deep understanding of the law and consistently withstand appellate review.

Kapoor completed a competitive and rigorous process that involved the careful scrutiny and recommendations of local and other Oregon attorneys, as well as the governor, which helps ensure that individuals of genuine competence and integrity become judges. He has a strong work ethic and a sincere commitment of service to the people of Oregon. He is approachable, collegial and well respected.
