I cringe every time I read anything about Lane County Commissioner David Loveall or Lane Community College board member Zach Mulholland. Being elected to public office should be a privilege and an opportunity to serve. Not an opportunity to advance your own ego.
The LCC Board has censured Mulholland. I hope that serves to temper his ego until he hopefully steps down when his term ends in 2027.
Loveall is up for reelection in 2026. In the expectation that he will run, I can only hope a strong candidate runs against him and wins. Please, let’s not have multiple candidates run against him, as a split vote usually favors the incumbent.
Democracy means voting — both voting people in and voting them out.
