Snowden Intern
Leo Heffron is a recent graduate from the University of Oregon and an intern with the Charles Snowden Program for Excellence in Journalism.
Leo is originally from Portland and was a journalism major with a minor in Spanish. At UO, Leo was the associate opinion editor for The Daily Emerald, UO’s independent student newspaper. He was also a writer for FLUX magazine and a part of the communications team at the School of Journalism and Communication.
One of his favorite moments while at UO was diving into the agriculture industry in the Willamette Valley while reporting on the effects of the emerald ash borer, an invasive beetle from Asia.
In his free time, Leo loves making use of Oregon’s great outdoors and collecting vintage clothing.
