Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • Outsider Coffee at 125 S 32nd St., passed a county health inspection on April 12 with no issues. (view report)
     
  • Pizza Hut at 130 S 32nd St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on April 12. The restaurant scored 97 out of 100. Inspectors found buildup on the walls and basin of the mop sink, grease on containers for uncooked pizza dough, and significant residue on the dishwasher trays, all requiring more frequent cleaning. Toilet tissue was missing in the larger stall of the women’s restroom but was restocked during the inspection. Additionally, several floor tiles were cracked and chipped, requiring repair to maintain the facility in good condition. (view report)
     
  • Jax Deli at 134 S 32nd St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on April 12. The restaurant scored 91 out of 100. The inspector found some food residue on the meat slicer and dark buildup inside the soft drink nozzles, both of which were cleaned during the visit. A container of wasp insecticide was improperly stored near the kitchen but was removed immediately. A green cleaning chemical jug was unlabeled but was properly labeled during the inspection. Some ceiling tiles in the kitchen were damaged and absorbent, needing replacement with smooth, nonabsorbent tiles. The restaurant was advised to increase the frequency of cleaning and to maintain proper storage and labeling of chemicals. (view report)

  • A threat and harassment incident happened near the 2000 block of Clearwater at 2 p.m. on April 26.
     
  • A menacing incident happened near 5335 Daisy St., Springfield at 9 p.m. on April 24.
     
  • A stolen vehicle was recovered and an arrest was made near 385 54th St., Springfield at 3 a.m. on April 25.
     
  • A hit and run was reported near 2659 Olympic St., Springfield at 11 a.m. on April 24.
