Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • Burrito Boy – Olympic at 1889 Olympic St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on July 1. The restaurant received a score of 95 out of 100. The inspector noted several issues: a fly glue trap was improperly placed above orange soda and personal items, which could lead to contamination; plastic food containers were stacked while still damp after cleaning; some food-contact surfaces were worn, including a cracked salt lid and a broken thermometer; and the walk-in fridge had holes between the interior and exterior walls. Corrective actions were taken immediately to address these violations, ensuring proper food safety and equipment maintenance. (view report)

  • Cool Beanz Coffee – Mu at 869 W Centennial Blvd., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on July 1. The restaurant received an inspection score of 88 out of 100. The inspector noted that the handwashing sink in the restroom was blocked and not accessible for employees, which was a repeated issue during follow-up inspections. Additionally, there were no disposable towels or hand dryers available at the sink. The restaurant was required to clear the blockage and provide proper hand drying options immediately, with follow-up inspections scheduled to ensure compliance. (view report)
