Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • Publichouse at 418 “a” St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on August 17. The restaurant scored 95 out of 100. The inspector found the main dishwasher’s chlorine sanitizer was not working but was fixed immediately. Ice machines had dirt buildup on non-food surfaces and need regular cleaning. A handwashing sink near the back door was dirty and drained slowly, requiring better maintenance. The garbage bin in the enclosed area had debris and must be cleaned more often to avoid odors and pests. Dust was found on a vent in the women’s restroom, which should be cleaned regularly, preferably after closing, to keep the facility clean. (view report)

  • Dutch Bros Coffee at 222 S 5th St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on August 17. The restaurant scored 95 out of 100. The inspector found that the chemical sanitizer spray was too strong but was corrected during the visit by diluting it properly. Garbage bins were left open, which can attract pests, so lids must be kept shut at all times. Additionally, used towel bags were stored outside without proper covered containers; these should be kept inside or in covered bins to prevent pests and maintain cleanliness. (view report)
