Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • Holiday Inn Express – Food at 919 Kruse Way, passed a county health inspection on January 28 with no issues. (view report)
     
  • Coburg Pizza Company Centennial at 1710 Centennial Blvd., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on February 1. The restaurant scored 90 out of 100 with several issues noted. Some refrigerators lacked properly placed or working thermometers. Pizza dough was stored in non-food-safe plastic bags, which must be replaced. Equipment surfaces were damaged and need repair or replacement. Food debris and foul odors were found in kitchen and bar areas, requiring more frequent cleaning. Carbon buildup was on pizza conveyors. Dirty mop water was improperly disposed of in the parking lot and must go into the sewer. Walls, floors, and light fixtures need repairs to ensure cleanliness and safety. All issues require prompt correction. (view report)
     
  • Jersey Mikes at 1131 Mohawk, was cited for issues during a county health inspection on February 1. The restaurant scored 95 out of 100. Inspectors found that some food workers were not washing their hands properly, especially after changing gloves, but this was corrected during the visit. There was a buildup of dark residue inside the soft drink nozzles, which needs more frequent cleaning. Ice and water had accumulated inside the walk-in freezer, and a sandwich station fridge was unplugged, though food had only been stored briefly. Additionally, food debris was found on the floor behind equipment, requiring more regular cleaning to prevent buildup. (view report)

  • A car crash with injuries was reported near D St. and Pioneer Parkway West in Springfield at 3 p.m. on February 16.
     
  • Police reported a vehicle pursuit near 633 I105 westbound in Springfield at 10 p.m. on February 16.
     
  • Police served a warrant and made an arrest near 2750 Gateway St., Springfield at 7 p.m. on February 16.
     
  • A stolen vehicle was recovered and an arrest was made near S 41st Pl & Bluebelle Way in Springfield at 1 a.m. on February 16.
