Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • Dutch Bros Coffee at 4211 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on March 30. The restaurant scored 97 out of 100. The inspector found an unlabeled container of chemicals near the dishwashing area, which was immediately labeled during the inspection. Wiping cloths used for cleaning food surfaces had sanitizer levels too low and need more frequent changing to maintain proper sanitation. Single-use items like cups and lids were stored on the floor and must be kept at least 6 inches off the floor to avoid contamination. Lastly, the women’s restroom lacked a covered waste bin for sanitary products, which must be provided. All issues were corrected or require prompt attention. (view report)

  • The Quack Taco, at 3477 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on March 30. The restaurant scored 90 out of 100. The inspector found the water supply hose lacked certification as food-grade and must be replaced or documented as safe immediately. Raw bacon was stored above ready-to-eat foods, risking contamination; this was corrected during the inspection by properly storing all raw animal foods below ready-to-eat items. The rubber seal on a refrigerator and some containers were damaged and need repair or replacement to ensure surfaces are smooth and cleanable. Additionally, ice buildup was found in a refrigerator mechanism, requiring maintenance to keep equipment in good working order. (view report)

  • Todd’s Place Restaurant at 1909 S A St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on March 30. The restaurant scored 92 out of 100. Inspectors found ice blocking a handwashing sink, which was immediately cleared and staff reminded to keep it accessible. Raw eggs were stored above cooked meat but were rearranged during the inspection to prevent contamination. The ice machine had residue and some food containers were unlabeled; cleaning and labeling were advised. Equipment like the walk-in refrigerator ceiling and fridge gasket need repairs, and debris was found under kitchen equipment, requiring more frequent cleaning. Some surfaces are rough or sealed with tape and lighting in food prep and storage areas is below standards, needing improvement. (view report)
