Restaurant inspections

  • Lani Moku Chill at 4425 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on November 13. The restaurant received a score of 90 out of 100. The inspector found that the mobile food unit was not operating as approved because wine was stored improperly in open bottles without proper dispenser heads. To comply, the restaurant must only serve wine using approved dispensers or covered urns with dispensers. They also need to have a written policy on how to handle, clean, and store dispenser heads, including procedures for washing and sanitizing them. The person in charge lacked proper food safety knowledge, including correct cold holding temperatures (must be 41°F or below) and dishwashing frequency (every 4 hours). Employees were found eating and storing personal food improperly above public food, which was corrected. Sanitizer solutions were either too strong or ineffective, and wet cloths were improperly stored; these issues were fixed. Toxic cleaning materials were stored above food areas but were moved immediately. Roadwork is affecting traffic near you

  • Long-term projects: Southbound Laura Street in Springfield is closed to through traffic between mileposts .120 and .339 for construction work, including utility and storm system upgrades, sidewalks, and paving.
