Restaurant inspections
County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.
- Amore Italian Bakery & Bistro at 2108 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on November 20. The restaurant received a score of 94 out of 100. The inspector found that a handwashing sink in the kitchen was blocked by dishes and a pot with eggs, making it inaccessible for employees to wash their hands. The restaurant was required to keep the sink clear and use it only for handwashing. The staff promptly removed the items and cleaned the sink, correcting the issue during the inspection. - Starbucks Coffee #2976 at 1499 Mohawk Blvd., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on November 25. The restaurant scored 97 out of 100. Inspectors found that employee personal food was stored above public food in the back fridge, which can cause contamination; this was fixed immediately by moving the personal food below. Additionally, a dried coffee spill was found inside the bottom of a double-door fridge, and staff were instructed to clean and maintain all non-food surfaces regularly to prevent buildup.
