Community crime report

  • A driver was involved in a car crash while under the influence. The incident happened near Clear Lake Rd at 8 a.m. on Sept. 8.
     
  • An assault was reported near 220 Cross Pl in Eugene at 9 p.m. on Sept. 5.
     
  • A burglary arrest happened near 2571 Haig St., Eugene, on Sept. 5 at 6 a.m.
     
  • A burglary was reported near 20 Grimes St., Eugene, at 7 a.m. on Sept. 6.
     
  • Police arrested someone for breaking into a vehicle near 3861 Elmira Rd, Eugene, at 6 a.m. on Sept. 5.
     

Roadwork is affecting traffic near you

  • Long-term projects: – Prairie Road is closed to all traffic between Highway 99 and Maxwell Road from August 17 to about September 18 for railroad crossing replacement work. Use Irving Road, Beltline, or Chambers Road as detours.
  • This week, crews are working at the Prairie Mountain School Crossing to complete electrical and lighting installations and make final touch-ups. Expect large trucks, construction equipment, and workers in the area. Traffic cones and signs will direct drivers through the zone.
  • Starting this week, Crow Road is closed from east of La Porte to Highway 126 for utility construction. Crews are working at the intersection of Crow Road and Highway 126 (W 11th) to install a wastewater manhole and pipes, with work moving west on Crow Road. Access to La Porte is open only via Greenhill Road.
