Roadwork is affecting traffic near you
- Long-term projects: – Construction is happening near the corners of 18th and Hilyard Street this week. Lanes may be reduced to one, so expect some delays. There will be traffic cones and signs to guide you, and workers will help pedestrians around closed ramps.
- Starting today through Friday, construction is underway at Columbia Street and East 17th Avenue. Crews are installing new storm drains, wastewater and electrical connections, and making surface improvements. This affects parts of East 17th Avenue (from east of Agate Street to Columbia Street and from East 17th Avenue to Moss Avenue), as well as sections of Columbia Street and Columbia Alley. Construction will continue through summer 2027. Vehicle detours are set up at Agate Street, East 17th Avenue, Columbia Street, Moss Street, and East 19th Avenue as needed. Pedestrian routes are also detoured, and bike lanes on Agate Street (west) and Moss Street (east) are closed and combined with traffic lanes. Large trucks and equipment are in the area.
- From today through Friday, construction is taking place at 13th Avenue and Hilyard Street for a new University of Oregon student housing project. The right lane of Hilyard Street is closed between 13th and 11th Avenues. The protected bike lane is mostly open, with occasional brief closures. The east sidewalk on Hilyard Street between 13th and 11th Avenues is closed; pedestrians should use the west sidewalk between 13th and 12th Avenues. The pedestrian crossing at Hilyard and 12th Avenue now has stop signs for north and south pedestrian traffic, but the east-west crossing at this intersection does not have stop signs or signals.
