Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • Long-term projects: – Construction is happening near the corners of 18th and Hilyard Street during the week of today. Expect moderate delays as lanes may be reduced to a single lane.
  • From today through Friday, construction is taking place at Columbia Street and East 17th Avenue. Work includes installing new storm drains, wastewater and electrical connections, and surface improvements. This affects parts of East 17th Avenue (from east of Agate Street to Columbia Street and from East 17th Avenue to Moss Avenue), as well as sections of Columbia Street and Columbia Alley. Construction will continue through summer 2027. Vehicle detours will be in place at Agate Street, East 17th Avenue, Columbia Street, Moss Street, and East 19th Avenue as needed. Pedestrian routes will also be detoured. Bike lanes on Agate Street and Moss Street will be closed and combined with traffic lanes.
  • Construction crews are working on Patterson Street between E 18th Ave and E 24th Ave during the week of today. They are maintaining traffic control and barricades for new bollards. No traffic impacts are expected during this work.
  • Today to Friday, construction is happening at 13th Avenue and Hilyard Street for a new University of Oregon student housing project. The right lane of Hilyard Street is closed between 13th and 11th Avenues. The protected bike lane will mostly remain open with occasional brief closures. The east sidewalk on Hilyard Street between 13th and 11th Avenues is closed, and pedestrians are directed to use the west sidewalk between 13th and 12th Avenues. At the intersection of Hilyard Street and 12th Avenue, the pedestrian crossing is now controlled by a stop sign for north and south pedestrian traffic. The east-west pedestrian crossing at this intersection has no stop control or active signals.
