Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region
- Long-term projects: – Construction is happening near the corners of 18th and Hilyard Street during the week of October 12. Lanes may be reduced to a single lane, so expect moderate delays.
- From Monday, October 12 through today, there is major construction at Columbia Street and East 17th Avenue. This work affects parts of East 17th Avenue (from east of Agate Street to Columbia Street and from East 17th Avenue to Moss Avenue), as well as sections of Columbia Street and Columbia Alley. Vehicle detours are set up at Agate Street, East 17th Avenue, Columbia Street, Moss Street, and East 19th Avenue. Pedestrian routes are also detoured on all affected streets. Bike lanes on Agate Street (west side) and Moss Street (east side) are closed and combined with traffic lanes. Construction will continue through summer 2027.
- Construction crews are working on Patterson Street between E 18th Ave and E 24th Ave during the week of October 12. New bollards will be installed later this year. No traffic delays are expected.
- From Monday, October 12 to today, construction is happening at 13th Avenue and Hilyard Street for a new University of Oregon student housing project. The right lane of Hilyard Street is closed between 13th and 11th Avenues. The protected bike lane is mostly open with occasional brief closures. The east sidewalk on Hilyard Street between 13th and 11th Avenues is closed, and pedestrians should use the west sidewalk between 13th and 12th Avenues. The pedestrian crossing at Hilyard and 12th Avenue now has stop signs for north and south pedestrian traffic, but the east-west crossing has no stop control or signals.
