Good morning, Lookout Eugene-Springfield,

In education news today, the Bethel teachers’ union and the district reached a tentative agreement for a new contract. If ratified, Bethel teachers will get a 13.5% pay increase and a 9% increase in district insurance contributions over three years. Lilly St. Angelo reports, and she also has the story of St. Paul Catholic School’s capital campaign to raise $9.6 million for a new gym and performance space.

Tyson also writes about Ducks defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi, who is taking over as Cal’s head coach after the season. But Lupoi is not done at Oregon yet — and has strong words to that effect.

Lane County commissioners continue to debate about recycling and waste management projects, and Ben Botkin has been covering those meetings. Commissioners unanimously agreed to replace the county’s methane collection and electric generation facility at Short Mountain with a new technology that would capture and clean the methane.
