- A wildfire was burning just east of Oakridge near Highway 58, and some residents were told to evacuate immediately. A stretch of Highway 58 was closed. We have a reporter and photographer on the way, and we will keep you posted as things develop.
- Fire danger is likely to get worse. The temperature might reach triple digits next week in Eugene-Springfield.
- The Emeralds minor league baseball team said today it will play at least two more seasons in Eugene, after 2025. The team had been looking to leave Eugene after voters in 2024 rejected a bond measure to build a new ballpark.
- Victoria Doyle resigned from the Springfield City Council today, about halfway through her term. She cited increasing work and family responsibilities as the reason.
