The superintendent of Springfield Public Schools is on his way out. A 60-year-old Eugene man missing since mid-December was found dead by a hiker outside of Ashland. Damon Lee Petrie’s exact cause of death is pending an autopsy.
Eugene police jailed Adam Samuel Charles, 54, on suspicion of stabbing another man downtown near Sixth and Lincoln. The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. Michael Zhang reports.
