At RiverBend, doctors voted 342-25 to say they have no confidence in two top hospital executives: Jim McGovern and Kim Ruscher. It is the latest fallout from the executives’ decision to end a longstanding contract with a local physicians group to staff the emergency department — and replace it with a Georgia-based company. The doctors also voted 363-4 in support of reversing that decision. Ashli Blow continues her coverage of this story.

The mother of a 26-year-old man fatally shot by police two days after Christmas in 2024 is suing an Oregon State Police sergeant and others, alleging negligence in the death of her son, Tyler Holloway. The lawsuit seeks up to $12.5 million in damages. The shooting occurred east of Yachats in the Oregon Coast Range. Jaime Adame has the story.

Republicans boycotted the House floor Monday afternoon after the Oregon Senate sent the House a controversial bill that would reschedule a citizen vote on gas tax and vehicle fee increases — from November to May. Republicans want the issue to be on the ballot with the governor’s race. Our partner Oregon Capital Chronicle reports from Salem.
