  • Reporter Ashli Blow was in Oakridge yesterday getting a look at the mostly contained Aubrey Mountain Fire. She explains how both a fast, aggressive response and previous forest resilience work helped prevent what could have been a much worse situation.
  • Not sure if we should be proud or not, but for the second year in a row, the winner of the World’s Ugliest Dog contest hails from Oregon. This year it’s a hairless bulldog from Eugene named Petunia. I mean, if ugly can be adorable, that’s what we got here. Check her out.
  • It’s been five years since the Holiday Farm Fire, but Lane County continues working to get recovery funds out to residents and businesses that were harmed. Commissioners today voted to set up a new fund to help businesses recover.
