To build up, or not to build up. That is the question facing Eugene City Council, and however they decide, someone is going to be upset.

Grace Chinowsky was at Monday’s council meeting as it heard from residents of the Fairmount neighborhood who are opposed to raising the building height so the University of Oregon can build student dorms there.

If allowed, the school will put a five-story residence hall at Moss Street and 17th Avenue. Residents say it will change the character of the neighborhood. Students and representatives of Homes for Good say the building will add much-needed dorms.

As Grace writes, the answer is likely to come soon.

Ashli Blow has the latest on PeaceHealth, where the medical company filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit brought by Eugene Emergency Physicians over the plan to replace EEP with ApolloMD.

And finally, Sarah Lorge Butler has the finishing times for the Lane County contingent at the Boston Marathon, along with the story of how discarded water resulted in blisters for one runner.
