Good evening,

A former president of the Eugene teachers union has sued the 4J school district, asking for $700,000. Sabrina Gordon accuses the district of sex discrimination and sexual harassment by allowing rumors to spread in 2024 that she had a sexual relationship with former 4J superintendent Andy Dey. Lilly St. Angelo has the story.

There were glimmers of promise and dire warnings at a discussion of Oregon and Lane County’s economic outlook, an event hosted by the Eugene Chamber of Commerce. As longtime Oregon economist John Tapogna put it: “If we fail to adapt, we are just locking ourselves into a future of stagnation, scarcity and decline.” Michael Zhang was there.

Matt Rodrigues has been climbing the ranks of Eugene city government: traffic engineer, city engineer, public works director, assistant city manager. Next month he’ll become interim city manager, while the City Council continues its search for a successor to City Manager Sarah Medary, who retires Dec. 12. Grace Chinowsky reports.
