The ACLU is suing the city of Eugene to try to force police to release the locations of all 57 Flock Safety license-plate reader cameras that have been installed around town. The lawsuit contends the city wrongly refused an earlier public records request asking for the locations. Jaime Adame has the story.
Eugene is starting the process of searching for a new city manager to replace the retiring Sarah Medary. But just six citizens spoke at a City Council meeting held to collect ideas on what sort of person Eugene should be looking for. The overwhelming concerns of those who spoke: business and the economy. Grace Chinowsky reports.
The Eugene Airport is planning an expansion of its Concourse A. The project had been set to go last spring before the federal government held up a $5 million grant that was partly funding construction. The grant has been OK’d again, and the city says construction should start next spring. Michael Zhang explains.
A three-vehicle collision this morning on the Highway 126 expressway, at the intersection with 52nd Street, killed one woman and shut down a portion of the highway for several hours. Jaime Adame reports.
There was also a fatal crash on a BLM road near Triangle Lake. A passenger in the vehicle died when it rolled over. The driver was later arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. Jaime Adame has this story as well.
