Good evening,
Well, yesterday the Ducks’ offensive coordinator was reported to be leaving UO for a head coaching job elsewhere. Today it’s the defensive coordinator: Tosh Lupoi is reportedly in negotiations to become the head football coach at Cal. Tyson Alger has the story.
Friends and colleagues of Gavin McComas, the longtime owner of Sundance Natural Foods in Eugene, remembered him for his compassion and generosity. McComas died last week at age 79. Lillian Schrock-Clevenger wrote an obituary.
How’s your yard looking? Any dandelions or mushrooms sprouting out there? That’s actually good, says gardening columnist John Fischer. The mushrooms are doing hard work, and the dandelions you can eat. So don’t think of these things as nuisances. I, for one, will take this to heart.
Twenty-six people spoke out at Springfield’s City Council meeting last night, asking councilors to protect the city’s residents against ICE. Springfield correspondent Lillian Schrock-Clevenger covered that story as well.

Retired higher education administrator Jim Arnold has a guest column defending the faculty union at Lane Community College and saying union members have legitimate gripes.
