Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • Fast Lane Coffee at 5746 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on December 8. The restaurant scored 92 out of 100. Inspectors found a personal food container stored improperly on top of public food in the fridge, which was corrected by discarding the personal food and reminding staff to store employee food safely to avoid contamination. Additionally, knives were stored in an unclean area with visible food debris on the wall and rack. This was fixed by moving the knives to be properly washed, sanitized, and air-dried. Staff were advised to clean food-contact surfaces regularly and store utensils in clean areas to prevent contamination. (view report)

  • Ocean Garden Restaurant at 5676 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on December 8. The restaurant scored 81 out of 100.
