Two people died after a head-on collision Wednesday, Aug. 5, on Highway 58 about 7 miles east of Oakridge, Oregon State Police said.

Marjorie Rae Spence, 40, of Eugene, died at the scene, state police said.

Spence was a passenger in a vehicle driven by 25-year-old Colton Zachary Bias, of Springfield. Bias was taken to a hospital, where he died from crash injuries, state police said.

At about 5:56 p.m. Wednesday, a red Toyota 4Runner headed west on Highway 58 and driven by Bias entered the oncoming lane of travel for an unknown reason, state police said.

The Toyota collided with an eastbound white Mack commercial vehicle.

Another passenger in the Toyota, 38-year-old Kaylee Dail Cardwell, of Westfir, sustained minor injuries in the crash. The driver of the Mack vehicle, Collin Mitchell Owens, 60, of Springfield, was uninjured.
