An explosion from manufacturing activity Monday, July 28, in Eugene resulted in a person sustaining serious burns, Eugene Springfield Fire Chief Michael Caven said Tuesday.
Dispatch records show a report of an explosion at 8:05 p.m. near the intersection of West 12th Avenue and Chambers Street.
Caven said in an email the manufacturing activity involved “oil extraction,” but had no further details.
The resulting flash fire did not cause any significant damage to buildings, Caven said. The injured person was taken by ambulance to a hospital.
