Space is still available in a free in-person workshop for people 60 and older who are living with chronic health conditions such as heart disease, anxiety, diabetes and arthritis.
The class, Living Well With Chronic Conditions, begins Thursday, May 28, and continues for six weeks, meeting 1:30 to 4 p.m. each Thursday at the RiverBend Annex in Springfield, 123 International Way.
Participants will learn how to manage a variety of chronic mental and physical health conditions and will receive a free workbook.
Topics include:
- Making informed decisions
- Eating for health
- Breaking the symptom cycle to better manage frustration, pain, fatigue, isolation, sadness and poor sleep
- Improving communication and problem-solving skills
The workshop is facilitated by peer co-leaders from Lane Council of Governments’ Senior & Disability Services.
