I have known Val Hoyle since she joined the Oregon Legislature in 2011. She quickly established herself as a leader in the caucus supporting our economy and Oregon’s special environment. She also became Democratic Caucus Leader, with great skill in getting our priorities passed into law, enacting great legislation supportive of Oregon families and our environment.

Hoyle is doing the same in Congress, passing legislation that helps in spite of the dangerous stalemate in the House on many issues. Hoyle has continued her work supporting our forests, fisheries, air and water in Congress while supporting family-wage jobs in enterprises that support and enhance clean air, water and land. She understands that climate change is an immediate and catastrophic threat to our forests, agriculture, fisheries and our very lives.

Hoyle’s working to protect Oregon’s natural resources and address the climate crisis by:

  • Pushing for billions in new federal investments to reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfires and protect our forests
  • Supporting a constitutional amendment guaranteeing everyone the right to a safe climate
  • Creating new federal protections for southwest Oregon’s rivers, watersheds and habitats
  • Working to pass legislation that helps clean up Oregon’s waterways
  • Fighting for a just transition to a renewable energy future that provides good jobs for Oregonians and protects families from high energy costs
  • Ending our reliance on fossil fuels and pushing for federal investments in clean energy

Finally, remember that Hoyle will be one vote for Democratic control of the U.S. House that can then push back on Trump and his many misdeeds. Some may be tempted to vote for a third party candidate who cannot win and are willing to risk losing this election to a Trump ally who will not support any of the progress Oregon and its citizens need.
