In response to the news of a third car crash into Bar Purlieu’s in-street seating patio, I find it ridiculous that this is still being allowed in the first place.

There are many areas in downtown Eugene with extremely limited space for parking. The restaurants doing this don’t need to really be doing it anymore regardless. The spaces in front of the former Lion and Owl wine bar on East 11th Avenue are particularly egregious. There’s almost never parking there even without it being used 24/7 for customers who don’t even frequent that location. Let alone the dangerous nature of the premise.
