I write in strong support of John Barofsky for the Eugene City Council representing Ward 3.
I had the honor of serving on the Eugene City Council for 16 years, stepping down five years ago. From my earliest years in office, Barofsky was a dedicated volunteer at City Hall.
He served on the Budget Committee and the Planning Commission, and to this day he sits on advisory committees overseeing the city’s street bond, community safety initiative, and more. He took his service seriously, always showing up, prepared and willing to listen and learn.
As a fellow Democrat, I appreciated Barofsky’s commitment to our most vulnerable citizens. He has advocated for services for the unhoused and has always supported the things that make our community livable, like libraries and parks. We need someone with Barofsky’s deep background on council now as we face some of our greatest financial challenges ever.
Voters of Ward 3 would do well to elect John Barofsky to the Eugene City Council.
