A native Oregonian, Jim Danzer is a graduate of the University of Oregon and started his media career in Eugene with KLSR/KEVU TV. He went on to a successful career in media sales and sales management with several industry leaders across broadcast, radio and cable companies in Oregon and Northern California. He brings an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to help our partners grow and succeed in all they do.
Jim’s career arc has brought him full circle, returning to Eugene-Springfield, an area he has always considered home. He has experience coaching in business, sports (thriving on competition), along with a long history of volunteer roles with CASA, NAMI and AYSO in particular.
He believes in the need for high-quality journalism, designed to contribute to the healthy dialogue of our communities while connecting each of us to a greater quality of civic knowledge and engagement. The opportunity to work in a collaborative space, focused on education and understanding of what is critically important to our success as a region, is paramount in Jim’s daily commitment to Lookout. He has a deep desire to make an impact on his community and contribute meaningfully to its growth.
An avid Duck Fan, Jim and his family can be found tailgating in the Autzen Stadium lot, hosting friends and family, or traveling to away games to cheer on the Ducks. He loves the outdoors and is looking forward to hiking the Ridgeline Trail and kayaking throughout Lane County as frequently as possible.
