Property development

  • A zoning application has been filed for 2409 Nixon Street, requesting approval to divide the property into two separate lots. If approved, the new configuration would allow for one dwelling unit on each lot. (view application)
     

Community crime report

  • A vehicle hit a pedestrian and a report was taken. The incident happened near E 13th Ave. & Patterson St., Eugene, at 11 a.m. on Oct. 6.
     
  • A burglary was reported near 1515 Hilyard St., Eugene at midnight on Oct. 7.
     
  • A report was taken for unauthorized use of a vehicle near University St. and E 24th Ave. in Eugene at 6 p.m. on Oct. 7.
     
  • A theft from a vehicle was reported near 1841 Garden Ave., Eugene at 1 p.m. on Oct. 7.
     
  • A theft from a vehicle was reported near 2088 Harris St., Eugene at 4 p.m. on Oct. 6.
     

Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • Long-term projects: – Construction is happening near the corners of 18th and Hilyard Street this week. Expect moderate delays as lanes may be reduced to one.
  • Major construction is taking place at Columbia Street and East 17th Avenue from Monday through Friday this week, affecting parts of East 17th Avenue, Columbia Street, Columbia Alley, and nearby streets. Vehicle and pedestrian detours are in place, and bike lanes on Agate Street and Moss Street are closed and combined with traffic lanes. Construction will continue in the area through summer 2027.
  • Crews are working on Patterson Street between East 18th Avenue and East 24th Avenue this week for minor repairs. New striping and signs are up, and most traffic control is being removed. Only minimal traffic disruptions are expected.
  • Sidewalk repair is happening at 1695 Agate Street and East 17th Avenue from Monday to Friday this week, between 7:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The sidewalk will be closed, but no traffic delays are expected.
