Community crime report

  • An assault was reported near W 2nd Ave. and Jackson St. in Eugene at 8 p.m. on July 22.
     
  • Police requested a K-9 unit for assistance near W 8th Ave. and Lawrence St. in Eugene at midnight on July 23.
     
  • A theft was reported near 796 W 13th Ave., Eugene at 10 p.m. on July 22.
     
  • A theft was reported near 1204 W 4th Ave., Eugene at 11 a.m. on July 22.
     
  • A theft from a vehicle was reported near 363 E 17th Ave., Eugene at 3 p.m. on July 22.
     

Roadwork is affecting traffic near you

  • Long-term projects: – Adams Street is partially closed for construction near W 5th Avenue and W 6th Avenue. Parking is closed on the west side of Adams from W 6th to W 5th, and on the east side from W 5th Alley north. W 5th Alley is closed between Monroe Street and Adams Street. Pedestrians cannot use the east side of Adams at W 5th Alley or the south side of W 5th Avenue from Adams to midblock toward Monroe. Pedestrians can walk on the west side of Adams from W 6th to W 5th, with detours for those heading east across W 5th Avenue. The eastbound bike lane on W 5th Avenue is closed near the construction area.
  • Adams Street is partially closed from W 6th Avenue to W 5th Avenue on the west side and from W 5th Alley north on the east side. W 5th Alley is closed between Monroe Street and Adams Street. Pedestrian access is closed on the east side of Adams Street at W 5th Alley and on the south side of W 5th Avenue from Adams Street to midblock toward Monroe Street. Pedestrians walking west on the south side of W 5th Avenue should use the north side at Monroe Street. The eastbound bike lane on W 5th Avenue is closed near Adams Street; bicyclists should detour north on Adams Street to W 4th Avenue, then east to Monroe Street, and south back to W 5th Avenue.
  • Construction is happening near the corners of 18th and Hilyard Street during the week of July 20. Expect delays and possible lane reductions to a single lane.
  • During the week of July 20, construction continues at the intersection of Mill Street and Broadway near Whole Foods. Crews are expanding the triangular island and pouring new curbs and sidewalk ramps. Eastbound traffic is reduced to a single lane through this area.
