Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • Lucky Lous Deli at 4215 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on May 27. The restaurant scored 97 out of 100. The inspector noted that soap was missing at the women’s restroom handwashing sink, but it was added during the inspection. The restroom doors lack self-closing mechanisms and need repair or replacement. Additionally, the kitchen lighting is too dim, especially in areas where knives are used, and must be increased to meet state safety standards. (view report)

  • Taco Bell at 4198 Main St., passed a county health inspection on May 27 with no issues. (view report)

  • Long-term projects: Construction is happening on 36th Street between Main Street and Commercial Avenue as part of the GO Bond Street Repair Project. Work started the week of April 27 and is expected to finish by September 30. Local residents can still get to their homes, but there will be temporary lane and driveway closures, and some areas will have no parking. You may see changes to travel routes, construction noise, dust, and heavy equipment. Notice will be given before any closures.
