John Barofsky has my vote this election. 

I’ve worked with many boards, committees and volunteers in this community for nearly 20 years, both personally and professionally. I’ve had the pleasure of serving on the City of Eugene’s Community Safety Payroll Tax Citizen Advisory Board with John since the board’s inception in 2020.

This group is responsible for preparing an annual report separate and distinct from the report prepared by the outside auditor, documenting the city’s use of the tax revenue and noting whether the tax revenue was spent as intended — to make our community a safe and welcoming place for all, including our most vulnerable people. 

Barofsky is a standout committee member. He brings his deep understanding of the city budget to the citizen advisory board, having served seven years on Eugene’s Budget Committee. He also leverages his expansive knowledge of other community efforts, helps keep a focus on the intended impacts of the funding and is a reliable and consistent contributor to and leader within the group. He’s truly engaged, and I’m looking forward to his representation of Ward 3.
