The Oregon Department of Transportation will close the westbound Main Street bridge in Springfield for three weeks beginning Jan. 5, 2026.
The department is closing the historic bridge connecting Springfield and Glenwood for repairs, including removing and replacing the bridge surface, replacing the joints, repaving the road east of the bridge and adding a bike ramp.
During the bridge closure, both directions of traffic will use the South A Street bridge.

Westbound traffic will take a left turn off of Main Street onto South Mill Street to get onto South A Street. Traffic will then use a temporary connection to the roundabout.
There will also be a temporary traffic pattern in the roundabout with lane closures.Â
The department initially planned to close the bridge in December, but decided to postpone until after the holidays.
