Saturday in Eugene, did you feel anything was accomplished at the No Kings rally, protest – whatever you wish to call it?

I will say nothing was accomplished, except letting it be known that this country does not have a king as a ruler.

I wonder how many people who voted for Donald Trump attended this event? I also wonder how many voted?

In his short time in office, Trump has proven he is not a man of his word. He has fooled those who voted for him a second time.

To avoid this in the future, we can no longer be polarized. It’s time to educate ourselves on who’s running. It’s time to forget political parties and look at the individual.

The Republicans, the Democrats, the independents and other elected officials have gotten this county in the mess it is in. Especially in Oregon, people still can’t find the time to fill out a postage paid ballot and mail it.

No vote, no voice.

The news should go deeper into political stories and get below the surface. Anyone can do a fluff piece – let’s have some substance.

History lesson. Did the 1960s demonstrations stop the war in Vietnam? They did not.

The government and all political parties need a wakeup call. They won’t vote for term limits and it’s time to vote out those not representing the people. Time to vote out those whose time has long since passed. Age is a factor, and people in their 80s need to go and let the next generation shape the future.

Need I remind you that the government is of the people, for the people, by the people.
Yes, more than 77 million voted for this “king” and look how he has turned on them.

The next election should begin to shake up the government. It’s time to make your own decision and not follow the crowd.
