Justice Correspondent
Jaime Adame has lived and worked in towns large and small, early in his career reporting on police and crime as a freelancer in New York and then as a staff writer for a newspaper in North Central Washington.
More recently, he’s written about violence in homeless encampments on a university’s land in Arkansas and court cases involving all sorts of conflict and misconduct.
His staff positions include covering crime at The Wenatchee (Washington) World; business at the Abilene (Texas) Reporter-News; city government at Urban Tulsa Weekly; and higher education with the Democrat-Gazette, a newspaper in Arkansas. As a freelancer, he’s contributed writing about crime and safety issues to Snitch newsweekly, Gotham Gazette, The Crime Report, and CourtWatch.News, among other publications.
Jaime understands the vast reach of the criminal justice system and sees it growing ever more complex, something he wants to help explain in his writing about justice issues.
A native Texan, Jaime appreciates Eugene’s (much) cooler summers and asks for patience and understanding in the winter if he’s seen struggling to put on snow chains at a highway rest stop.
