North Lake 61, Mapleton 0
North Lake ruined the Sailors’ home opener with a 61-0 victory Saturday in a nonleague game. Mapleton, now 0-2, opens league play on Friday, Sept. 19 with a 7 p.m. game at Triangle Lake (2-0).
C.S. Lewis 70, McKenzie 13
The No. 4 Watchmen claimed a 70-13 win over the Eagles Saturday in the home opener for McKenzie. The Eagles (0-2) hit the road for their league opener against Gilchrist Friday, Sept. 19. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
Friday, Sept. 12
North Eugene 58, South Eugene 18
The Highlanders dominated the Axe Friday in the league opener for both teams. North Eugene takes its 2-1 record into a 7 p.m. game Friday, Sept. 19 at Eagle Point. South Eugene (0-2) travels to Thurston for a Friday game. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
Willamette 56, Grants Pass 21
Quarterback Zeke Thomas threw for two touchdown passes in the first half as the Wolverines claimed a 27-7 halftime lead en route to a 56-14 victory Friday in their home opener. Willamette closed out the scoring with an 80-yard punt return by Hunter Vaughn for a touchdown. Willamette, now 2-0, continues league play Friday, Sept. 19 at Sprague. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
West Salem 29, Sheldon 14
The Irish fell behind the Titans in a league game Friday at West Salem and lost, 29-14, despite scoring a touchdown with less than a minute to play. The Irish, now 0-2, will host North Medford Friday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. in Sheldon’s home opener.
Churchill 35, Roseburg 7
The Lancers used a 22-point third quarter to break open a tight game and put away Roseburg, 35-7. The Lancers led 6-0 at halftime behind a 2-yard rushing touchdown by Lukas Babbitt and scored three touchdowns in the decisive third quarter. Churchill, now 2-1, continues league play Friday, Sept. 19 at Springfield.
Bend 34, Springfield 28 (OT)
The Millers lost a 34-28 overtime heartbreaker Friday to the Lava Bears in Bend. Springfield rallied for two touchdowns to tie the game in the fourth quarter. But the Lava Bears scored on a rushing touchdown in overtime to claim the victory. Springfield, now 0-2, opens league play next week as it hosts Churchill. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
Thurston 47, Eagle Point 6
The Colts opened league play at home Friday with a lopsided 47-6 victory against Eagle Point. Thurston, now 2-1 on the season, hosts South Eugene Friday, Sept. 19. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
Henley 33, Marist Catholic 7
The Spartans wrapped up a brutal three-game stretch of road games with a 33-7 loss at Henley. Marist (0-3) is set for its home opener Friday, Sept. 19 with a nonleague game Friday, Sept. 19 against Seaside. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
Coquille 34, Cottage Grove 0
The Red Devils shut out the Lions Friday in this nonleague game at Coquille. The Lions, now 1-1, will try to bounce back Friday, Sept. 19 with another nonleague game at Creswell. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
Junction City 30, Woodburn 13
The Tigers evened their record at 1-1 with a 30-13 road nonleague win at Woodburn. Junction City hosts Marshfield Friday, Sept. 19 in the Tigers’ home opener. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
Siuslaw 24, North Valley 23
The Vikings grabbed their first win of the season with a 24-23 home thriller Friday over North Valley. Siuslaw (1-1) travels to Cascade Christian for another nonleague game Friday, Sept. 19. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
Pleasant Hill 33, Brookings-Harbor 20
Pleasant Hill broke into the win column Friday with a 33-20 nonleague victory over Brookings-Harbor. The Billies, 1-1 on the season, host Douglas in another nonleague game Friday, Sept. 19. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
Sutherlin 46, Creswell 6
The Bulldogs fell to 0-2 on the season with a 46-6 nonleague road loss to Sutherlin. Next up: another nonleague game Friday, Sept. 19 at home against Cottage Grove. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
Lowell 57, Bonanza 6
Lowell improved its record to 1-1 with a lopsided 57-6 win at Bonanza. The Devils open league play Friday, Sept. 19 with a 7 p.m. game at Oakridge.
Riddle 42, Mohawk 30
In a nonleague game between top-10 1A eight-player teams, Riddle knocked off the Mustangs, 42-30. Mohawk fell to 1-1 with the home loss and will try to bounce back Friday, Sept. 19 with another nonleague game at home against Camas Valley.
Crow 25, Falls City 0
Crow traveled to Falls City Friday for a nonleague game and came away with a 25-0 victory. The Cougars, now 2-0, have scored 103 points and have not yet allowed an opponent to score. The 1A six-player team aims to remain unbeaten with a Friday, Sept. 19 game against North Lake. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
Triangle Lake 56, Powers 19
The Lakers hit the road for a game at Powers High School and dominated, posting a 56-19 nonleague win. Triangle Lake, now 2-0, has scored more than 50 points in each of its games and opens league play Friday, Sept. 19 with a home game against Mapleton. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
Thursday, Sept. 11
Amity 20, Elmira 6
The Falcons fell to 0-2 with a 20-6 loss at Amity Thursday, Sept. 11. Elmira — in the middle of four straight road games — takes a couple of weeks off before hitting the road again for a Sept. 26 game at Umatilla.
