The Eugene Parks Foundation has launched a free mobile game — similar to Pokémon Go — that encourages families to get out and explore Eugene’s parks.
The game, called Agents of Discovery, has six interactive missions at any time, which teach about local wildlife and habitats. To play, users need to download the Agents of Discovery app and then choose a mission. Current missions are available for Awbrey Park, Alton Baker Park, Wild Iris Ridge, Delta Ponds and Bethel Community Park.
“Agents of Discovery is a gateway,” the foundation said in a news release. “Once families come for a mission, they’re more likely to stay, return, and deepen their connection to these vital community spaces.”
Eugene Parks Foundation is a nonprofit that helps Eugene secure new parkland, connect trail networks, and ensure every neighborhood in the city has access to parks.
