Community crime report

  • A person was reported missing near Lane County at 10 p.m. on June 22.
      
  • Police arrested someone for having illegal drugs near 2000 Marcola Rd, Springfield at 10 a.m. on June 23.
     
  • Police served a warrant and made an arrest near Franklin Blvd. and Mississippi Ave. in Eugene at 10 p.m. on June 23.
     
  • Police served a warrant and made an arrest near 344 A St., Springfield at 9 a.m. on June 23.
     

Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • Long-term projects: Construction is happening on 36th Street between Main Street and Commercial Avenue as part of the GO Bond Street Repair Project. Work started the week of April 27 and is expected to finish by September 30. Local residents can still get to their homes, but there will be temporary lane and driveway closures, no parking zones, and possible changes to travel routes. There may also be construction noise, dust, and heavy equipment. Advance notice will be given before any closures. Construction on Aspen Street between Centennial Boulevard and Tamarack Street will start the week of June 15. Most of the work should be done by September 4, with the whole project finished by October 31. Residents will still have access to their homes, but there will be temporary lane and driveway closures, no parking zones, and changes to travel routes. Expect construction noise, dust, and heavy equipment in the area. Advance notice will be given before any closures.
