Community crime report

  • A family child abuse incident happened near the 100 block of Allen Ave. at 7 p.m. on June 21.
     
  • An incident involving unattended children happened near E 16th Ave. at 8 p.m. on June 21.
     
  • A DUII (driving under the influence of intoxicants) incident was reported near the 1300 block of Q St. in Springfield at 1 a.m. on June 23.
     
  • A motor vehicle incident was reported near 21st Street and Main Street in Springfield at 4 p.m. on June 22.
     
  • A person was caught driving with a suspended license near 18th Street and M Street in Springfield at 6 p.m. on June 22.
     

Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • Long-term projects: Construction is happening on 36th Street between Main Street and Commercial Avenue as part of the GO Bond Street Repair Project. Work started the week of April 27 and is expected to finish by September 30. Local residents can still get to their homes, but there will be temporary lane and driveway closures, no parking zones, and possible changes to travel routes. There may also be construction noise, dust, and heavy equipment. Residents will get advance notice before any closures. Construction on Aspen Street between Centennial Boulevard and Tamarack Street will start the week of June 15 as part of the GO Bond Street Repair Project. Most of the work should be done by September 4, with the whole project finished by October 31. Local access to homes will be maintained, but there will be temporary lane and driveway closures, no parking zones, and possible changes to travel routes. Expect construction noise, dust, and heavy equipment. Advance notice will be given before any closures.
