Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • Native Coffee Company Llc at 217 N 42nd St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on January 19. The restaurant scored 89 out of 100. The inspector found no designated person in charge during the inspection, which must be corrected immediately. A handwashing sink was improperly used for dumping liquids and had milk residue, but this was fixed during the visit. Plumbing issues were noted with improper valve installation and a faucet left running; the faucet was turned off, and further action will be taken. The toilet door lacks a self-closing mechanism and must be repaired. Lastly, an outside dumpster was left open and must remain covered at all times to prevent contamination. (view report)
     
  • Toxic Burger at 4175 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on January 19. The restaurant scored 97 out of 100. Inspectors found dark residue inside the soft drink nozzles, which need more frequent cleaning to prevent buildup. A bottle of soap in the dishwashing area was unlabeled but was labeled correctly during the inspection. Additionally, two containers holding cooking oils and sauces were unlabeled and must be clearly marked to identify their contents. The restaurant was instructed to clean equipment more often and ensure all chemical and food containers are properly labeled for safety and clarity. (view report)

  • A person was reported missing near Lane County at 10 a.m. on January 30.
     
  • A driver was going the wrong way on the road. This happened near I-5 at milepost 161. The incident occurred at 9 p.m. on February 1.
     
  • A menacing incident was reported near 5th Street and Centennial Boulevard in Springfield on February 2 at 4 p.m.
     
  • Police arrested someone for breaking into a vehicle near 1417 8th St., Springfield at 10 p.m. on February 2.
     
  • A stolen vehicle was reported and followed up on near F St. & 18th St. in Springfield at midnight on February 3.

  • Long-term projects: Lane County will have off-and-on construction on Laura Street in Springfield, between Scotts Glenn Drive and Harlow Road. Flaggers will direct traffic, and there may be some delays.
