Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • Hacienda Amigo Mio at 3344 Gateway St. was cited for issues during a county health inspection on April 15. The restaurant scored 84 out of 100. Inspectors found employees washing hands improperly, using a warewashing sink and cloth towels instead of designated handwashing sinks with disposable towels. A handwashing sink was misused as a dump sink with ice inside. Soda nozzles had residue buildup, and some ready-to-eat foods like cut tomatoes were not date-marked. Raw chicken was thawed on the counter, onions were stored on the floor, and whipped cream bottles were kept in ice used for drinks. Wood paddles and deeply scored cutting boards were used, and a dump sink near the bar was leaking. All issues were corrected or addressed. (view report)
