Restaurant inspections
County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.
- Thai Fusion 2go Llc at 4425 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on April 15. The restaurant scored 97 out of 100. The inspector found a spray bottle with toxic chemicals that wasn’t labeled, but it was labeled correctly during the inspection. Several containers holding soy sauce, salt, water, and oil were unlabeled and need clear labels. There was also some residue and debris under equipment, which requires more frequent cleaning to prevent buildup. (view report)
- The Quack Taco, at 120 S 35th St., Springfield, was cited for issues during a county health inspection on April 15. The restaurant received a score of 95 out of 100. The inspector found that the hose used to supply water to the mobile food unit was not confirmed to be food-grade, which is required for safety. The restaurant was instructed to immediately use a certified food-grade hose for potable water. This issue was corrected by April 16, when the restaurant provided photos proving they replaced the hose with a proper food-grade one. (view report)
- Grill & Go at 3444 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on April 15. The restaurant received a score of 97 out of 100. The inspector noted that the mobile food unit was improperly connected to a water supply hose without an approved sewer connection, which was corrected during the inspection by disconnecting the hose and ensuring it is stored properly to avoid contamination. Additionally, there was a minor roof leak allowing rainwater into the unit near the southeast corner and hood vent, which needs to be repaired to prevent water from entering the facility. Note on today’s report: Some of the incidents listed are not recent. This can happen for a couple of reasons: Delays in agency reporting — sometimes officials don’t file reports right away, or agencies release batches of reports weeks later. Delays in public complaints — people may not notice or decide to contact police until some time after an incident. Please contact the responsible law-enforcement agency or your local elected officials if you have concerns about their delay in releasing information.
