Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • Chicken Bonz at 1815 Pioneer Pkwy E, passed a county health inspection on March 18 with no issues. (view report)

  • Secret Lounge at 1195 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on March 29. The restaurant scored 89 out of 100 with several issues noted. A handwashing sink was blocked but cleared during inspection. The ice machine had residue and refrigerators lacked proper thermometers. Unsafe materials like golf tees were used as bottle stoppers and sanitizer test strips were initially missing but provided during inspection. Dust and debris were found under equipment and in the walk-in refrigerator. The restaurant lacks a mop sink and a covered waste bin in the women’s restroom. There were small wall holes, worn floors, and unshielded light bulbs over food prep areas. Cleaning frequency and facility repairs need improvement. (view report)
