Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • Wild Duck Cafe at 1419 Villard St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on June 9. The restaurant received a score of 90 out of 100. The inspector noted several issues: expired refrigerated food, specifically green olives and asparagus dated 5/8, which must be discarded; copper mugs being used for acidic beverages, which should be removed; a leaking pipe near the water heater that needs repair; and mops stored on the floor instead of being positioned to air-dry properly. The restaurant took immediate corrective actions, including discarding the expired food, removing copper mugs, addressing the plumbing leak, and repositioning the mops for proper drying.
