Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • U Of O Bookstore at 895 E 13th Ave., passed a county health inspection on July 31 with no issues. (view report)

  • Espresso Roma at 825 E 13th Ave., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on July 31. The restaurant received an inspection score of 81 out of 100. Key issues included employees not storing drinks properly, dirty surfaces above food prep areas, a malfunctioning cooler that kept food at unsafe temperatures, and high sanitizer concentration. The inspector required immediate corrections, which the operator addressed by properly storing drinks, cleaning surfaces, discarding unsafe food, diluting sanitizer, and cooling cheese correctly. Additionally, the restaurant had a pest issue with flies due to open doors, which was corrected by closing the doors during the inspection. A follow-up inspection will occur in 14 days.
