Restaurant inspections
County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.
- El Taco Taco – New at 2890 Chad Dr, was cited for issues during a county health inspection on October 5. The restaurant scored 95 out of 100. The inspector found that raw eggs and raw chorizo were stored above ready-to-eat foods in the refrigerator, risking cross-contamination. Food must be stored in covered containers, with raw animal foods placed below ready-to-eat items according to cooking temperature requirements. Personal foods must also be stored to avoid contamination. During a follow-up inspection, the restaurant corrected these issues, properly storing all raw animal foods and employee foods according to Oregon food safety rules. (view report)

Roadwork is affecting traffic near you
- Long-term projects: Lane County is working on Gilham Road between Ayres Road and Don Juan Avenue to build storm sewers, water quality facilities, retaining walls, ADA curb ramps, sidewalks, and paving. Work started April 14 and is expected to finish by December 31. Detours are set up, and flaggers are directing traffic.
Construction is happening on Coburg Road between Fox Meadow and North Game Farm Road. There are lane changes controlled by flaggers for utility work and ADA ramp installations. Pedestrians and bicyclists may have limited access, and bikes will need to merge with traffic in both directions. Large trucks and equipment are present in the area.
There is construction work in Eugene to improve traffic signals. The impact on traffic is expected to be low.
