The final book from Cai Emmons, a Eugene novelist, playwright and professor at UO, is “The Bells,” and it comes out tonight. Meanwhile, a documentary about her last months living with ALS screens tomorrow. Annie Aguiar has the remarkable story.

A renewal of the levy that funds 17% of Eugene Public Library’s budget will go before voters in May. Councilors are deciding whether to keep the levy renewal at the same rate or increase it to fund service expansion. Grace Chinowsky reports.

In sports, local high school volleyball teams are preparing for the postseason. And in hoops news, fans are stoked for the arrival of 6-foot-4 Oregon guard Wei Lin, who played for three years in the Chinese Basketball Association and promises to bring some flair to Matthew Knight Arena. Eugene council weighs options for library levy renewal
